So I know that a lot of you knew I was pregnant, and really excited to have a baby. I had counted it as sort of a minor miracle since I have polycystic ovarian syndrome which means it was supposed to be hard for me to get pregnant.

Anyway, I just miscarried.

I'm feeling really fucked up and empty and I really have no motivation to do anything right now. Hopefully I can work through this soon but it's just really hard right now. So I might not be around so much. Just to give you all a heads-up on my inevitable hiatus.

I have a black cat named Venom, and she's certainly not bad luck. I've walked under thousands of ladders, spilled salt, and shattered mirrors. I've never carried a rabbit's foot.

BUT,

for hockey, I must:

1.) Be the first person (of my family) through the door going into the NHC.
2.) Be the first person (of my family) to enter our section in the NHC, and it must be through the same entrance each time.
3.) Take a walk around the concourse before warm-ups.
4.) Watch warm-ups from my seat.
5.) Carry my "lucky coin" in my left pocket and look at it before the game. No one else but my friend Audrey may touch it. (This tradition, the most recent of these, started 5 years ago.)
6.) Take a walk around the concourse during each intermission.
7.) Leave the building through our regular door.

...and several others.

Superstitious in everyday life? No. For hockey? Oh hell yes.

A rough draft of Chapter Two.

My problems with this chapter:
1.) I'm afraid some of it could be construed as filler
2.) I'm unsure of the whole Alexandra/Mary concept... since Mary Magdalene is the usual accepted Bride of Christ in any bloodline story, I incorporated her; do you think I should just leave her be as Alexandra without the identity change? Does the identity change make sense? Do I need to elaborate?
3.) Some people have read this and wanted certain parts to be extended... thoughts?

...please give me constructive criticism. Tell me what you didn't like/what you are confused about (as well as what you like, that's always good too.)
